Dedicated in loving memory of Lesley

This site is a tribute to Lesley Carrington, she is much loved and will always be remembered.  Lesley passed away peacefully at Michael Sobell Hospice on Tuesday 7th September 2021.  Special thanks to the Hospice team for their exceptional care during Lesley's final weeks and days.

Lesley was born in Aberdeen in 1950 to Annie and Arthur Stephenson.  In 1952, the Stephenson family moved to Pole Hill Road in Hillingdon, where Lesley and her sisters Margaret, Anne and Joyce all grew up together.  In 1971, Lesley married Larry Carrington and they had two children, Tina and Lisa.  She was a proud and loving Nanna to her four grandchildren, Lauren, Ebony, Tane and Zico.

Lesley enjoyed her career with London Transport as a bus driver and received many certificates and awards for her excellent and friendly service throughout West London. Lesley met her partner John on the buses and they spent many happy years together, along with their springer spaniel Chester.

Lesley was a passionate animal lover and cared for countless pets during her lifetime.  She rescued cats, dogs, rabbits - anything with four legs - and provided a loving caring home for them all. Lesley's passion for horses began in her childhood and continued throughout her life until her final days.  Lesley was laid to rest with her head on a pillow filled with her beloved horse Sonny's brushed hair.
